Hello and welcome MEOBDA Directors to Wagoner High School for our 2024 MEOBDA Honor Band Auditions! We are excited to host and wanted to express our appreciation for the opportunity!
Here’s a few things that might make your visit a little easier on Monday. 🙂
PARKING: Please have your buses park in the Performing Arts Center parking lots.
WARM-UP SPACE: Our Concert Hall will be used as a warm-up/landing zone for your kiddos. Please help us by instructing your students not to bring food or drink into the Concert Hall of the Performing Arts Center. Students can eat and drink in the lobby or outside the PAC in the breezeway.
DIRECTOR HOSPITALITY: The Director Hospitality Room will be in the EAST front lobby classroom of the PAC. We will have snacks and yummies for you throughout the day, courtesy of our Bulldog Band “Quarter Note Club” and Tri-M Music Honor Society students.
AUDITION HEADQUARTERS/AUDITION CARDS: Audition Headquarters will be in the WEST front lobby classroom of the PAC. Audition cards can be picked up here upon your arrival. Please have a designated student you trust pick up cards for your school. Ensure that they know unused cards need to be returned. Folders for students that make the bands can be picked up here as well.
CONCESSION: We will be selling concessions from our concession stand in the PAC Lobby. Please remind your students that they can eat in the lobby or outside the PAC but that they are NOT to take food or drink into the concert hall.
JUDGE’S MEALS/SNACKS: Judges will have the opportunity to fill out a menu card to request drinks, snacks. etc. Please fill your card out completely upon arrival so that we can make sure you get your food. Menu cards can also be given to room monitors to request items while you judge. (We ask for patience in this area, as this is a new endeavor for us! lol)
OFF-LIMITS AREAS/SUPERVISION: PLEASE do not allow your students onto the PAC stage or backstage areas. These areas are off-limits to students from visiting schools. (Too many places to hide and a little too dark! Haha) Students are also not allowed to go into the HS Gym, as they will be practicing for basketball. We will have signs around for you to know exactly where things are located, and you can always find a guide or room monitor, or ask in group chat if you have questions about room locations, etc. please help us supervise the 800 kiddos we will have visiting our buildings. If you have HS percussion students auditioning, they will need to use the sidewalk to walk AROUND the PAC to get to their audition room in the Bandroom.
TECH STUFF: We do not have a huge supply of Chromebooks or devices available for you to use to enter your scores, so if at all possible, please bring your own device. If you will be needing a device, please shoot me an email at kdietzel@wagonerps.org so I can get you squared away before Monday.
EQUIPMENT/PERCUSSION STUFF: We will have all percussion instruments needed for auditions here and ready to go in the audition rooms, so you will not need to bring any percussion instruments with you. A bass amp and guitar amp will be available in the jazz rhythm audition room. Of course, you are welcome to bring any equipment you would like, but I wanted to let you know those items would be available to your kiddos if needed.
